Music Ministry

Choral Ensembles

Chancel Choir (ages 18 thru Adult):

Rehearses weekly from September through May on Thursdays at 7pm. They sing a wide variety of choral music for both 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday services (3-4 services per month) and participate in special programs: Christmas and Easter cantatas as well as Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday. Membership is open to all interested adults. Music reading ability is helpful but not required.

Circuit Singers (Men’s Choir):

The Circuit Singers primary ministry is singing for funeral home visitations. They also traditionally sing for Mother’s Day. Membership is open to all interested adult men. Music reading ability is not required. They have been invited to sing for district United Methodist Men’s events as well as other “travel” and outreach opportunities. Watch bulletin for announcements.

Disciple Singers (grades K thru 6) :

Disciple Singers rehearsals are Sunday evenings at 6:45pm from mid-September through April. Disciple Singers sing music appropriate to their age level, experience hand chimes and learn musical symbols and notation. They sing for both 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday services (1 service per month). Membership is open to all children in the designated grade levels. Bell Ensembles

Chapel Bells:

Chapel Bells rehearse weekly from September through May. They ring a variety of 3 octave hand bell pieces for both 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday services (2 services per month) and participate in special programs. Membership is open to all interested adults. Music reading ability is required. Previous ringing experience is helpful.

Intermediate Bells (Ages 7-Adult):

Intermediate Bells rehearse weekly from September through May. They ring a variety of 3 octave hand bell pieces for both 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday services (2 services per month) and participate in special programs. Membership is open to all interested children and adults age 7 and up. Basic music reading ability is required (Beginning Bells or music reading instruction is a prerequisite). Previous ringing experience is helpful.

Beginning Bells (Ages 7-Adult):

Beginning Bells rehearse weekly from September through May. They learn beginning music reading and hand chime ringing techniques. Members advance into Intergenerational Bells as they demonstrate mastery of this material. Membership is open to all interested children and adults ages 7 and up. No previous experience is necessary.

 
Instrumental Ensembles

Orchestra (Ages 7-Adult):

Orchestra rehearses weekly from September through May. They play a wide variety of arrangements for traditional band and orchestra instruments. They play for both 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday services (2-3 services per month) and participate in special programs. Membership is open to all interested instrumentalists. One year of instruction on an instrument is a prerequisite
