Our Past
IN 1856, the Methodist Episcopal Church was organized in the Red School House at the corner of Morrish and Miller Roads. It was home for over 120 years until the mid 1970′s when the decision to leave that site was made because repair and improvement costs became prohibitive. In 1968 The Methodist Episcopal Church merged with the Evangelical United Brethren denomination creating was is now called The United Methodist Church. The membership grew over the years but the building grew old. The membership began planning our present building in 1974 breaking found in 1977. Land was purchased on Miller Road to make the future secure. Our new place of worship was consecrated in 1978 to our Lord’s work. Many thanks to all those whose dedication, labor and sacrifice made this possible. Our newer facilities include beautiful acreage to meet many future needs.
Our Present (Phase I)
On May 30, 2004, a groundbreaking ceremony was held to mark the beginning of Phase I of our building project. Phase I included the following features:
- 6 additional Sunday School Rooms
- Family Life Center: A religious Conference Center; Full size gymnasium and locker rooms; Portable stage for plays & concerts
- Commercial kitchen for fellowship & outreach dinners
- Johnson Center for youth and community activities
- Soccer and softball fields

- New Sanctuary
