Daily Moravian Text:  Psalm 50:16-23

Do you ever see the billboards along the road that quote God?  You know, the black boards with white lettering that say things like “Let’s meet at my house Sunday before the game.” – God

I see these signs as creative ways to share the message of God, and most of them probably are right on with how God may view His people.  But there has always been something that has bothered me about them, to my knowledge, God didn’t actually say these things.  Maybe He did directly say these things to the person who designed the billboards, I suppose I can’t know that for certain, but I know these words are not in the Bible.  And while I do agree with the messages being sent, I have a problem with quoting God if He didn’t actually say something in particular.

I do believe that the motivations of the creator of these signs are pure, but motivations are not always the most important thing.  This kind of comes back to the question of whether it is more important to try to please God or to try to trust God.  I do believe that we all have to be very careful to make sure we are focused on God’s will and not ours.

Now, maybe the creator of God really had a vision from God, so I am not here to condemn these signs.  I really just want to share with everybody including myself the need to make sure we are on our knees praying to figure out what all it takes to understand what God’s will indeed is and to make sure that we are not out for our own agendas.

Thoughts and Prayers,  BK
