Eve Circle Minutes

United Methodist’s Women’s Eve Circle met in the church lounge on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Chairperson Rhona McBride opened the meeting with prayer at 7:05PM. There were 16 ladies present.

Devotions were given by Sharon Cummings.

Birthdays for the month: Ferol Hudson, Arlene Lanning and DeNeil Tardiff.

Sunshine Report: Names were shared for those who could use cards, prayers and meals.

Secretary’s Report: Minutes were approved as written.

Treasurer’s Report: Shelby Giguere reported that we had $31.00 in offerings and pledges last month.

Women’s Connection: Rhona explained that this is a sub-committee of UMW.
There were about 25 women at the Bunco party on March 16. It was a wonderful activity.
There will be a planning meeting in the church lounge on Thursday, April 19, at 6:30PM. All interested ladies are invited to attend. Suggestions were given for future activities.

Old Business: There will be a fundraiser Craft Bazaar and Bake Sale on April 21, along with the men’s BBQ Chicken Dinner. We were asked to sign-up in advance for both craft items and baked goods. Craft items are due at Welcome Centers by Sunday, April 15. If your item does not sell and you would like it back, put your name on it. Volunteers are needed to help clean-up and watch over items.
Appreciation was expressed to Judy Bordeaux and Marjorie Rosenthal for their work with the Easter Baskets. All went well with lots of help.
District Prayer Breakfast was held in Owosso on Saturday, March 24. It was well attended and a nice event. Pictures are on the UMW Bulletin Board.
Dresser Ministry collection will begin again in June. Items go to the Pregnancy Crises Center.
Mystery Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, and location is still a mystery.

New Business: Elouise Kilmer is doing research on a church-wide cookbook.
Lavender Luncheon is June 13.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:35PM. We moved to the Sanctuary where a number of young ladies were gathered. Our guest speaker could not attend, so Rhona McBride led the program entitled “Girlfriends in God”. We shared ways of helping younger women become involved with programs of interest to them.

Refreshments were served by Barb Johnson and Genny Flanary in the lounge. The younger women joined us, and we enjoyed getting to know each other better.

Respectfully submitted,
Genevieve Flanary, Secretary
